Medical/Dental & Family Safari

Each of our trips are a mixture of volunteering, adventure, travel, wildlife and more.

Each trip visits the Maasai Mara National Reserve which is the most famous and most visited in Kenya. It offers breathtaking views, an extraordinary density of animals including "the Big Five" (lions, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros) and many varieties of plains game. An impressive feature is the annual migration of wildebeests, (over 1.5 million of them migrate), zebras and gazelles from the plains of the Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara's grasslands from late June through early October, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyena, and circled by vultures as their journey unfolds. The dramatic river crossings are a reality for tourists visiting in early July-August. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year-round. Game includes elephant, black rhino, buffalo, zebra, giraffe etc. as well as the big cats, while the rivers are home to hippo and crocodiles. Birds abound with 452 different species of which 53 of which are raptors.

On the March trip we will start by heading down into the Great Rift Valley with a few days at THE OLMALAIKA TRUST while also enjoying the incredible wildlife life in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. We then head back to Nairobi and on down to the coast - stopping for a few days in Taita-Taveta to provide clinics to the surrounding communities before ending the trip with two more clinics on the coast around Nyali area above Mombasa. You will then fly out from the coast or take the train back to Nairobi to connect with your international flight out.

.On the June trip (formally July) head deep into the heart of Maasailand to the community in and around Olorte. For the most part you will find yourself in a world untouched by westerners and tourist - from wildlife, to waterfalls, cowbells, traditions and culture, to hyenas laughing in the night and Colobus Monkeys calling out to each other as the sun rises. Then as the trip draws to a close you will enjoy the final weekend at THE OLMALAIKA TRUST and spend time in the Maasai Mara National Reserve enjoying the incredible wildlife before heading back to Nairobi for your flight back home.

On the October trip we spend the first weekend at the Olmalaika Trust and enjoy the Maasai Mara National Reserve and then head up to Samburu National Reserve to provide medical/dental care and enjoy the amazing wildlife and birds!
